The United States Marine Corps was planning to order three of these choppers to replace the two that currently serve as Marine One (i.e., the Presidential helicopter). However, with a price tag of $21 million each, and with the economy the way it is, President Obama pulled the plug on the order. In any case, if you didn’t know any better, you’d probably assume this photo of the AW101′s cabin was actually a photo of a private jet cabin, because that’s how big and luxurious it is. But the size of this chopper doesn’t slow it down. The top speed is 192 mph, and the range is an impressive 863 miles. So this really is the only helicopter I would purchase.
2.Sikorsky S-92
The most expensive helicopter is the Sikorsky S-92, designed for heads of corporations and heads of state that require an aircraft that is comfortable, safe and productive. Active vibration suppressors and advanced acoustic technologies make for an incredibly smooth flight within a whisper-quiet cabin.
The S-92 helicopter has a 6 foot high ceiling, and offers true stand up head room enabling you to walk freely throughout the cabin. Also to help provide the perfect flight environment, the S-92 offers warm air at your feet and fresh, controlled air overhead.
The Sikorsky S-92 offers a standard 9-passenger interior within its spacious cabin, and can incorporate custom features including an elegant lavatory facilities and walk-in closets to a lavishly appointed wet bar or galley. All the comfort of a fixed-wing business aircraft with the freedom of a medium sized helicopter.
3. Bell 525 Relentless
You wouldn’t think so by looking at the size of the leather seats pictured here, but when configured in a VIP arrangement, this chopper can still seat 8 passengers. Of course, with
that capacity and with such luxurious materials (is that mahogany?), it will cost you a cool
$14.5 million. So you’re going to need to win a pretty big lotto jackpot to arrord this one.
As for performance, in this beauty you can cruise along at 193 mph for at least 573 miles.
